Cookies are small. This policy is not — because you deserve to understand exactly what happens on takekova.com from the moment you visit.
The short version: essential cookies that keep the website and checkout running are always active. You can accept or decline non-essential cookies (analytics and advertising) at any time, and we honor opt-out preference signals like the Global Privacy Control.
What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your device when you visit. When we say “cookies” in this policy, we also mean:
- Local storage & session storage — browser-based storage used by Shopify for cart and session continuity
- Pixels — tiny, invisible images embedded in pages or emails (used by Meta and Google) that signal when a page has been loaded
- SDKs and scripts — JavaScript code from third parties such as Google Analytics, Meta, and Klaviyo, which may collect and transmit behavioural data
How U.S. privacy law applies
In the United States there is no single federal law that requires consent before placing cookies. Instead, several state privacy laws give you the right to control how your information is used for advertising and analytics:
- California (CCPA/CPRA) — using cookies to share data with advertising partners can count as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. You have the right to opt out.
- Other state laws (VA, CO, CT, UT, TX, OR and more) — give you the right to opt out of targeted advertising and the sale of personal information.
- Opt-out preference signals — where required, we honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) as a valid opt-out request.
In practice: you will see a cookie banner where you can accept or decline non-essential cookies, and you can change your choice at any time. Essential cookies that keep the site and checkout working are always active. There is no cookie wall — declining non-essential cookies never blocks access to our website.

How we manage consent — our CMP
We use a Consent Management Platform (CMP). On your first visit, a banner gives you three choices:
- Accept all — you allow all cookie categories
- Reject all — only essential cookies are placed. You can still shop normally
- Manage preferences — turn each non-essential category on or off individually
There is no cookie wall — choosing "Reject all" will never block access to our website. You can reopen the preferences panel at any time from the link in our footer, and you can also opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information there.
Opt-out preference signals (GPC)
Where required by law, we honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC). When you enable GPC in your browser, we treat it as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for that browser or device.
Google Consent Mode
- Analytics allowed: Google Analytics 4 collects full session-level data for our reporting
- Analytics declined: GA4 switches to cookieless modelling — a small, aggregated, non-identifying signal is sent
- Advertising allowed: Meta and Google advertising pixels activate
- Advertising declined: no advertising pixels fire; our advertising continues but is not personalised to your visit
Browser controls & opt-outs
Every modern browser lets you view, block, and delete cookies. Instructions: Chrome → Settings → Privacy and security; Firefox → Settings → Privacy & Security; Safari (macOS) → Settings → Privacy; Edge → Settings → Cookies and site permissions.
