Health Claims & Product Disclaimer
KOVA Daily Strength is a food supplement. Every health claim on this website and on our packaging is authorised under EU Regulation 1924/2006 and substantiated by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA). This page documents exactly what we claim, the ingredient that substantiates each claim, and the regulatory basis on which we make it.
What KOVA Daily Strength is — and what it is not
KOVA Daily Strength is a food supplement, not a medicine, medical device, or therapeutic product. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or health condition. Nothing on this website, in our packaging, in our marketing communications, or in any other KOVA material should be interpreted as medical advice.
If you have a diagnosed medical condition, are taking prescription medication, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have any health concern relating to the ingredients in KOVA, consult a qualified healthcare professional before use.
KOVA Daily Strength is a daily food supplement in sachet form, providing creatine monohydrate (Creavitalis®/Creavitalis®), magnesium bisglycinate, vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol), and vitamin B12 (methylcobalamin). It is designed to be dissolved in water, coffee, a smoothie, or any cold or warm (not boiling) liquid and consumed once daily.
KOVA products are classified and sold as food supplements under EU Directive 2002/46/EC as implemented in Dutch law (Warenwetbesluit voedingssupplementen) and German law (NemV — Nahrungsergänzungsmittelverordnung). As a food supplement, KOVA Daily Strength is subject to EU food law, not pharmaceutical law. It does not require a prescription and does not undergo clinical approval by the EMA or any national medicines agency.
Our ingredients
KOVA Daily Strength contains four active ingredients. Each is present at a daily dose that falls within EFSA-assessed safe ranges and, where applicable, supports an authorised health claim under EU Regulation 1924/2006.
Creatine monohydrate — Creavitalis® / Creavitalis®
Creatine monohydrate is sourced from AlzChem Trostberg GmbH (Germany) under either the Creavitalis® or Creavitalis® quality specification, depending on batch. Both specifications are produced at the same GMP-certified facility in Trostberg, Germany, to an identical purity standard (≥99.9% pure creatine monohydrate). Creavitalis® and Creavitalis® are registered trademarks of AlzChem Trostberg GmbH; all rights in those marks remain with AlzChem.
Creatine monohydrate is one of the most extensively studied sports nutrition ingredients in the scientific literature. AlzChem’s production process results in a product free from creatinine, dicyandiamide (DCD), dihydrotriazine (DHT), and other synthesis-related impurities, and is independently tested for heavy metals, microbiological safety, and banned substance contamination.
Magnesium bisglycinate
Magnesium bisglycinate is a chelated form of magnesium bound to two glycine molecules. This form is selected for its superior gastrointestinal tolerability compared to inorganic magnesium salts (such as magnesium oxide or magnesium carbonate) and for its absorption profile. Each daily sachet provides 300 mg elemental magnesium, representing 80% of the EU Nutrient Reference Value (NRV) for magnesium (375 mg).
Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol)
Each daily sachet provides 1000 IU (25 µg) of vitamin D3 as cholecalciferol. This dose is above the EU Nutrient Reference Value for vitamin D (5 µg / 200 IU) and above the German Bundesinstitut für Risikobewertung (BfR) daily recommendation of 800 IU (20 µg) for food supplements. The dose of 1000 IU is, however, well within the EFSA-established Tolerable Upper Intake Level (UL) of 4000 IU (100 µg) per day for adults and is widely used in the supplement literature as an effective daily maintenance dose. See Section 7 for the full BfR disclosure.
Vitamin B12 (methylcobalamin)
Each daily sachet provides 2.5 µg of vitamin B12 as methylcobalamin, representing 100% of the EU Nutrient Reference Value (NRV) for vitamin B12 (2.5 µg). Methylcobalamin is the bioactive, coenzyme form of B12, which does not require hepatic conversion before use by the body.

What we can and cannot claim
EU Regulation 1924/2006 draws a strict line between permitted nutrition and health claims and prohibited disease-risk reduction or treatment claims. The following table documents this boundary as it applies to KOVA.
Where KOVA’s website, email, social media, or any other marketing material refers to the science of creatine in perimenopause, cognition, bone density, or female physiology, this content is presented as educational information about the state of peer-reviewed research — not as a health claim made by KOVA about its product. All such content is clearly distinguished from our authorised health claims and is sourced from published, peer-reviewed literature.
Safe use — dosage, duration & precautions
5.1 Recommended daily use
Dissolve one sachet (one daily dose) in 250–300 ml of cold water, coffee, tea, a smoothie, or any other beverage. Stir or shake until fully dissolved. Consume once per day, preferably at the same time each day to build a consistent daily habit. Do not exceed one sachet per day unless advised by a healthcare professional.
Creatine monohydrate: 5 g · Magnesium: 300 mg (80% NRV) · Vitamin D3: 1000 IU / 25 µg · Vitamin B12: 2.5 µg (100% NRV)
Food supplements should not replace a varied and balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle.
5.2 Creatine and water intake
Creatine draws water into muscle cells as part of its mechanism of action. We recommend increasing your daily water intake by approximately 250–500 ml while taking KOVA Daily Strength, particularly during periods of regular exercise. This is not a safety concern — it is a practical recommendation to support the product’s efficacy and to avoid any sensation of mild bloating, which some users experience in the first 1–2 weeks of use.
5.3 Who should consult a doctor before use
- Pregnant or breastfeeding women — the safety of creatine supplementation during pregnancy and lactation has not been sufficiently studied in humans. We recommend consulting your GP or midwife before use.
- Persons with renal impairment or a history of kidney disease — creatine is metabolised and excreted via the kidneys. If you have been diagnosed with any degree of renal impairment or have a family history of kidney disease, consult your doctor before use.
- Persons taking prescription medication — if you are taking any prescription medication, particularly diuretics, nephrotoxic drugs, or any medication affecting renal function, consult your prescribing doctor before use.
- Persons with diabetes — creatine may affect blood glucose regulation in some individuals. If you have type 1 or type 2 diabetes, consult your doctor before use.
- Persons with a history of liver disease — while no evidence of hepatotoxicity from creatine supplementation at normal doses exists in healthy adults, consult your doctor if you have a diagnosed liver condition.
5.4 Not for children
KOVA Daily Strength is formulated for adults aged 18 and over. Keep out of reach of children. The safety of creatine supplementation in children and adolescents has not been evaluated by EFSA and we do not recommend use in persons under 18.
5.5 Adverse effects and interactions
Creatine monohydrate at the doses used in KOVA Daily Strength (5 g/day) is considered safe for healthy adults based on extensive peer-reviewed literature and the EFSA safety assessment. The most commonly reported minor side effects in a small proportion of users are mild gastrointestinal discomfort (nausea, stomach cramping, or loose stools) during the first 1–2 weeks of use. These effects typically resolve without intervention as the body adjusts.
If you experience any serious or persistent adverse effect that you believe may be associated with KOVA Daily Strength, discontinue use and consult a healthcare professional. Please also report the adverse effect to us at hello@takekova.com and, in the Netherlands, to the NVWA via nvwa.nl; in Germany, to the BVL via bvl.bund.de.
Allergens & product composition
6.1 Allergen declaration
KOVA Daily Strength does not contain any of the 14 major allergens listed in Annex II of EU Regulation 1169/2011 (as implemented in Dutch and German food labelling law) as intentional ingredients. The product is:
KOVA Daily Strength is manufactured in a facility that also processes other food supplement ingredients. While allergen cleaning protocols are in place, we cannot guarantee the complete absence of trace allergens from cross-contamination. If you have a severe allergy to any substance, consult the full ingredient list on your product packaging and contact hello@takekova.com for batch-specific allergen information.
6.2 Full ingredient list
Each KOVA Daily Strength sachet contains: Creatine monohydrate (Creavitalis®/Creavitalis®), magnesium bisglycinate, maltodextrin (carrier), silicon dioxide (anti-caking agent), vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol — microencapsulated), vitamin B12 (methylcobalamin).
The full nutritional declaration and ingredient list is printed on every product sleeve and individual sachet in compliance with EU Regulation 1169/2011. The label on your product is the definitive ingredient reference for your specific batch. In the event of any discrepancy between the website and the physical label, the physical label takes precedence.
6.3 Heavy metals and contaminants
Every batch of Creavitalis®/Creavitalis® creatine monohydrate is tested by AlzChem Trostberg GmbH for heavy metal content (lead, arsenic, mercury, cadmium) and synthesis-related impurities (creatinine, DCD, DHT) in accordance with the limits set by EU Regulation 2023/915 and AlzChem’s own stricter internal specifications. A Certificate of Analysis (CoA) is available for every batch. Customers, healthcare professionals, or regulatory bodies may request the CoA for a specific batch by contacting hello@takekova.com with their order number and the batch number printed on the sleeve.
Vitamin D3 dosage — BfR disclosure
The German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (Bundesinstitut für Risikobewertung — BfR) recommends a maximum daily intake of 800 IU (20 µg) of vitamin D from food supplements for the general adult population. KOVA Daily Strength provides 1000 IU (25 µg) per daily sachet — 200 IU above this recommendation.
We disclose this openly because transparency is a core KOVA principle. Here is the full context:
Why we chose 1000 IU
The BfR recommendation of 800 IU is a conservative population-level guideline designed to minimise the risk of excessive intake across all adult subgroups, including elderly individuals who may have reduced renal conversion of vitamin D. It is not an upper safety limit.
The EFSA Tolerable Upper Intake Level (UL) for vitamin D in adults is 4000 IU (100 µg) per day — four times the dose in KOVA Daily Strength. The UL represents the highest daily intake that is unlikely to cause adverse health effects in the general population over long-term use.
The 1000 IU dose is the most commonly used daily maintenance dose in peer-reviewed supplementation research on adult populations and is used as the reference dose in multiple European vitamin D status studies. Women in the 28–45 age range — KOVA’s primary demographic — have among the highest rates of vitamin D insufficiency in Northern Europe, particularly during autumn and winter months.
KOVA Daily Strength is intended to be the user’s only vitamin D supplement. If you are also taking a separate vitamin D supplement or a multivitamin containing vitamin D, ensure your total daily vitamin D intake from all sources does not exceed 4000 IU (the EFSA UL). If you are uncertain about your total intake, consult a healthcare professional.
